On a gloriously sunny spring morning we had 138 runners complete the 2011 Magnificent Eastnor Castle Seven
First man was John Parker of CLC Striders, who was also last year's winner, in a time of 40:08, shaving almost a minute off his previous time of 41:02.
First woman was Kim Mazzuca in 48:24 - a new ladies' course record.

The 2009 Beacons Ultra, starting from the small village of Talybont-on-usk near Brecon is a great introduction to the world of Ultra running. Well that's what it said on the website so who am I to argue.
After much internal debate I settled on attempting an ultra marathon before I'd even had a go at a conventional marathon, I'd have plenty of time to do a marathon during my training (I did 3 in the end).
I got through my training unscathed and as the day drew nearer the nerves became more apparent, but I felt confident, I'd done a lot of training, I new I could do it! (I also new that I wasn't going to brake any records in the process)

It was a beautiful day today, and we had 128 runners for the 2009 Magnificent Eastnor Castle Seven. The first man was Garry Hughes of Dursley & District in 41:44. The first woman was Ann Nixon of Forest of Dean Athletic Club in 49:48.

Ten of us did the Forest of Dean Half Marathon this morning. Barry, Steve and Cliff all came in the top 50 men and Jenny in the top 50 women.
